David Hathaway serves a wide variety of the firm's clients, from publicly held corporations and universities to individuals and closely held businesses in the areas of finance and tax, business, institutional law, estate planning and probate administration. He has 30 year's experience handling all areas of federal income, estate, and gift taxation laws. Mr. Hathaway's business practice focuses on corporate law, including complex mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Hathaway has significant experience representing both sellers and purchasers, advising on the tax ramifications of transactions, handling tender offers, buyouts, joint ventures, recapitalizations, and asset and stock sales and purchases. He is well versed in the necessary regulatory filings.

Mr. Hathaway's estate planning practice focuses on assisting high net worth clients in preserving, increasing, and transferring wealth. He aids in the planning for the appropriate succession of family businesses, tax minimization, traditional planning documents, and creating and implementing sophisticated strategies related to wealth preservation and charitable giving, and the use of alternative measures to obtain the maximum tax and financial benefits.

Mr. Hathaway grew up in Cincinnati and obtained his law degree from the Ohio State University (cum laude) after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University. Admitted to the practice of law in Florida since 1972 and in Ohio since 1980, he is licensed to practice before the United States Tax Court, the United States Claims Court, and all Ohio and federal courts. Mr. Hathaway just completed his 2-year term as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Beech Acres and co-chairman of the Hospice Summertime Classic Golf event. He is active in local, county, and state politics.

Mr. Hathaway and his wife, Diane, have resided in Anderson Township for 28 years.
