Mr. Dershaw represents businesses, universities, insurance agencies, banks, and individuals, prosecuting and defending litigated matters primarily in the areas of Employment and Labor, Real Estate, Construction, and Contract claims. He also actively participates in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and negotiations. Mr. Dershaw's employment practice includes representing employees and employers in claims related to sexual harassment, race, age, gender and disability discrimination, wrongful discharge, collective bargaining, unemployment, worker's compensation, and covenants not to compete. He provides day-to-day counseling for clients in the areas of employee discipline, discharge, and the creation and negotiation of severance agreements. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Economics-Political Science and Spanish from Capital University. He is originally from Hilliard, Ohio. Mr. Dershaw is actively involved in the local community. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Peaslee Neighborhood Center and provides counsel to Tender Mercies.
