Because I represent individuals injured in automobile collisions, I often get asked, “What is the best auto insurance company?” When someone tells me that they have one of the notoriously difficult auto insurance companies to deal with, they often respond, “Well, they’ve always been very good to me when I’ve made a claim.” But when considering which auto insurance company to go with, it is important that you not only consider how they are going to treat you, but also treat those that you may harm. In the unfortunate event someone is caused harm by you, they should not be forced to deal with unnecessary hassle and delay in the resolution of their claims. Think of it as treating others as you would like to be treated. When insurance companies are allowed to treat people unfairly, in turn saving them money, they are motivated to act more aggressively in the future.
The American Association for Justice (“AAJ”) did a thorough investigation of insurance companies across America and presented their findings in a report titled, The Ten Worst Insurance Companies in America. They named the top five worst insurance companies as:

AAJ determined that these companies have put profits over policyholders and have unnecessarily denied, delayed and defended claims to avoid paying those who are the victims of the negligence of others.
When shopping for auto insurance, you may want to consider not only the impact that your decision will have on you, but also on those that are impacted by you. Companies that offer the lowest possible rates or other such perks may not be a long-term investment worth making.
